I’m always happy to hear from someone who’s enjoying the show, or perhaps noticed something that you think merits some attention. Especially if you have new ideas for a podcast, an historical walk, a site to visit, or a book to read. History is a big topic and a labour of love, so if you’d like to share the love, you can contact me at the email below, or fill out the form!

About Me
I’m Brendan Ray, the creator and host of the Ottawa History Hub, a podcast dedicated to exploring the stories that shaped Canada’s capital. My passion for history is backed by a strong academic foundation: a BA in History and Religion from Carleton University, an MA from York University, and both an MPhil and PhD from Birkbeck College, University of London (UK) in Education.
Since 2003, I’ve worked in education across Canada and internationally, sharing knowledge and inspiring curiosity. In 2023, I returned to Ottawa full-time, where I combine my love for research and storytelling to make the city’s past accessible and engaging for everyone.
Through the Ottawa History Hub, I aim to uncover the people, events, and ideas that built Ottawa—connecting its past to the present and revealing the hidden narratives behind familiar streets and landmarks.
