Episode 3: Étienne Brûlé

Étienne Brûlé was the first European to sail up the Ottawa River in 1610. While not the most famous of the early French arrivals in what’s now Canada, he was an important figure in the mapping of Ontario and the alliance system which connected New France to the various Indigenous nations of the interior.
